Retail Electricity Tariff 2023 In Bangladesh
The government has increased the retail price of electricity per unit by 5% on an average across the country at the consumer level. With this, the average retail price of electricity will be Rs 7.49 per kilowatt hour (per unit), which was Rs 7.13 earlier. In an executive order dated Thursday 12/01/2023, the government increased the retail price of electricity. It has been gazetted in this regard. The increased rates will be applicable from today for pre-paid customers and post-paid customers will be billed with the increased rates in their January bills.
Earlier, the last BERC hike was in March 2020 in retail electricity rates. On average, the retail price of electricity per unit was increased by 5.3% in 2020.
